This Cigar of the Week is none other than the CAO Nicaragua Matagalpa.
CAO introduced the Nicaragua collection at the 2018 IPCPCR trade show. Since then, it has quickly become one of CAO’s best-sellers.
CAO continues to push their brand and collection to new heights with their multi-national blends. Their collection consists of cigars that incorporate world, classic, new age, and flavor tobaccos.
The Nicaragua cigar fits perfectly into their “World” collection. It comes in three different vitolas (sizes), Tipitapam, Matagalpa, and Granada. All three are named after popular cigar cities in Nicaragua.
For the Cigar of the Week we are featuring the CAO Nicaragua Matagalpa. It is 5 5/8″ in length and has a ring gauge of 46.
Another hit from CAO’s Master Blender, Rick Rodriguez, the Nicaragua has a 91-rating from Cigar Aficionado.
CAO Nicaragua Matagalpa
The CAO Nicaragua is a tribute to the homeland where the brand first started. CAO and Master Blender Rick Rodriguez found specific Nicaraguan tobaccos to feature in their first Nicaragua created blend.
The CAO Nicaragua all begins with the carefully selected Nicaraguan Jalapa, Esteli, and Condega tobacco leaves. These unique tobaccos are then combined with a wrapper and binder from the famous Jamastran Valley in Honduras. Out comes the CAO Nicaragua. A cigar that provides a complex, full flavor smoke that will please any fan of Nicaraguan blends.
As you smoke the CAO Nicaragua your taste buds will be graced with the notes of dark chocolate, pepper, fruit, nuts, and sweet flavors.
